Dr Rebecca De Arburn Parent
Specialist surgeon and co-founder

I've always had a passion for animals of all kinds. Around the age of 6, I told my parents that I wanted to become an oceanographer. At school, I used the oral presentations we had to prepare to deepen my knowledge of whales and sharks. 🦈
Finally, after some research, I realized that being an oceanographer wouldn't fulfill my dream of starring in the next Free Willy. So I turned to veterinary medicine. Not a bad plan B, you might say!
I graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Université de Montréal in 2013, and it was during my academic career that I developed an interest (read: an obsession) for specialized surgery. I've been doing veterinary surgery exclusively since 2015 and graduated from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) in 2020.
I love teaching and sharing my knowledge with colleagues, veterinary students and conscientious pet owners. Coupez is now my preferred communication platform!
I'm the proud mother of Mathilda, an adorable, fun-loving little girl who is my greatest source of inspiration. Our family also includes 3 cats and a little Chihuahua cross, Barbie.
