We want to improve access to specialized veterinary surgery for animals in Quebec and the surrounding areas.

There was a time when Coupez wasn’t called that yet, but the project already existed… in our hearts and in our dreams. Jérôme and I had been mulling over this project for at least ten years when we finally took the plunge.

Like most of our colleagues, Jérôme and I first worked as specialists in large corporate organizations. We learned a great deal there: discipline, a steady pace, and a way of working that you pick up just like that, “on the job,” but with the support and guidance of your mentors. I am the surgeon I am today thanks to that training and that unique exposure. But in a large organization, there’s one thing you can’t control: the development strategy.

Decisions are made far removed from day-to-day operations. And at some point, we found ourselves thinking, “If it were up to us, we would have done it this way instead.” Then we thought about it again the next day, and the following week…

That’s how Coupez was born!

Above all, we wanted to improve access to specialized surgery. Accessibility is a multifaceted issue; pet owners want to avoid dealing with long wait times, long distances, and high costs. Our partner veterinarians are committed to providing high-quality, innovative care to their patients.
